At Branch & Bloom, our Junior Kindergarten — also known as our pre-K program — gives four- and five-year-olds in Burlington, KY the extra season they need to bloom before big-school begins. It's a bridge year designed to deepen skills, stretch independence, and send children into kindergarten as confident, capable learners.

Through play-powered literacy, math, and STEAM activities, pre-K children move from guided practice toward doing things on their own. They recognize letters and sounds, count and pattern, ask "what if," and tackle small challenges as a team. Just as important, they practice the everyday skills that kindergarten expects — following directions, managing belongings, raising a hand, and working through frustration with growing patience.

This year is ideal for children who just miss the public-school cutoff, as well as those who simply need a little more time to grow. Our teachers meet each child where they are, building the self-management, focus, and social confidence that make the leap to kindergarten feel exciting rather than overwhelming.

Grounded in Christian values, our pre-K weaves songs, Scripture, and gentle guidance into each day, so children step toward kindergarten as eager readers, nimble problem-solvers, and kind friends with sturdy roots.
